Aloha, I'm Makenna!

Launching Light Therapy Hawaii has been an beautiful journey here on the island of Oahu.

For many reasons, I believe it’s a miracle to be alive today. And not just breathing, but truly here.

Present, healing, thriving ~ and guiding others to this freedom that starts with the nervous system.
That didn’t come easy.

I was born into a half-safe, half-dangerous world.

My nervous system never got to exhale in consistent safety, especially from those meant to provide it. The first eight years of my life were marked by chronic, severe abuse at the hands of my father. Instead of developing with ease, I adapted in ways that would later be labeled Complex PTSD—and dismissed with a prescription like many others by a Western model that didn’t yet understand trauma the way we do now.

Those early decades were riddled with anxiety, depression, chronic health issues, and heartbreak—including the sudden tragic loss of my brother.
There were many times I asked:
“What am I meant to do with all of this pain?”

The answer became clear.
I would turn it into purpose. Into power.
I would walk the path of deep somatic healing, not just for myself—but for those who, like me, didn’t know where safety lived in their own bodies.

Light Therapy Hawaii was born from that journey.

Here, I integrate the best of trauma-informed care, integrative approaches, somatic therapy, sound, light, and vibration technologies to help others experience a full-body reset and a deeper reunion with their Embodied Self.

This is not just healing—it’s a homecoming.

Today, I am honored to live and serve on this sacred land in Hawaii, where I offer in-person sessions for profound transformation. It took years for thriving to become my norm, and now it is my deep joy to help you rediscover that same possibility inside your own body and life experience.

No matter what you’ve been through, you deserve to feel safe, whole, and radiant.
You deserve to live in freedom.
And I’ll be right here to remind you:
